Casual arguments occur daily and take place spontaneously, as they are embedded into our character through outside sources which naturally influence and help shape our personality, actions and way of thinking.  It is human instinct to defend our convictions and if we are exposed to a situation where our convictions are contradicted our senses naturally react to the opposition and unconsciously we respond.  For example, if Im a Christian I may casually argue with an opposing view that everyone should read and live by the words of the Holy Bible.  This conviction can be expressed with a simple comment such as I read the Bible and believe it is true.

Yet another frequent casual argument encompasses the subject of politics.  Again, if believe the ideas of a certain politician and hear a comment that contradicts my political beliefs, I may casually respond to their comment.  As these examples are somewhat complicated and sensitive subjects, it is important to mention that other simplistic casual arguments can occur.

I have completed assignments arguing my position on topics such as kidney treatments, hyperactive children, dwarfism, endangered species and free healthcare all arguing my stance on the subjects.  Every argument is structured based upon opinion, which is based upon an informal, or casual, reaction.

My exposure to the issues currently affecting the United States with health care issues caused me to informally develop an opinion; therefore, when developing my argument and supporting it with factual information.  The local and national news detail the debates surrounding healthcare and report the government happenings.  Humans are guided by influences which shape our character and I naturally developed my opinion by the outside influences surrounding the topic of health care.

The plight of endangered species is often a highly publicized subject and as I have stated, again I naturally developed my opinion due to my exposure to the topic.  Informally and subconsciously I absorbed the information and naturally formed an opinion that I stated in my assignment and supported with facts.  The same can be said for the other subjects addressed in my assignments.

It is human instinct to defend our beliefs, as our characteristics are developed by our exposure to outside events.  A casual argument does not always have to be a full-scale debate; it can be expressed with a simple comment that states our opinion.  The subject of a casual argument can be simple or complex; however it is human instinct to defend our opinions and convictions.
