What is ethnocentrism? In what ways can ethnocentrism be detrimental to a society? Ethnocentrism is the belief in the superiority of the nation or group to which someone belongs. It can be detrimental to society because there are groups and people out there that dont believe that the nation is superior and that everyone just needs to live their own lives not caring about anyone else. Some people have a negative attitude towards superiority in the nation and its government as a result of what our government does and what it doesnt do also.
Like people think the government is trying to take everyones homes away from them as a result of the government raising property taxes which is just plain stupid because there are so many low income families that cant afford property taxes as it is and theres going to end up being a lot of bank owned homes all over the U. S. if they keep raising taxes and what not. Thats the perspective I have on it. 3. Define emigration and immigration.
