The stakeholders in this issue are the people from the pharmaceutical company who need the rainforest for their medicines that they are creating. Also the tribe that live off this rainforest and its resources is also a stakeholder as explained earlier that they too play a role of using the rainforest. And then there is the people that will benefit from the medicines once it is processed and administered to them. These entities are the ones that have a stake in all of this an issue needs to be handled. With each person there is a way of thinking and ethical guideline in which they will follow. The tribe are simple people and live a life naturally with no technology and rely on the environment and its resources to continue to live their life. The ethical thinking of each party is different and they share some similarities. Good intentions is amongst it but the other does not see that from the others perspective. The good intentions of the pharmaceutical company is that they intend to use the resources to cure people of their ailments and make medicines.
Their intention is to help their fellow man that is sick rather than just tear down the rainforest for selfish needs. The tribe see the actions of the company as destruction towards their way of life as the animals and plant s are being picked apart. The views of the tribe is that they want to keep their way of life and prosper as they always have while the company see it is them being selfish and not sharing the resources that could benefit mankind. The tension between the two groups is understandable as they have their own reason each of how mankind can be helped and as the stakeholders that are involved in the rainforest it just seems that their conflict will continue to grow until something is done to keep the peace. This is not a scenario in which force or any kind of injustice ensues but more of a peaceful manner to try and help the other out. So each party has their own guidelines of what is right and what is wrong but it is up to them to decide if it will work out for the other.
The tensions between the two are just but what is important out of the whole situation is the fact that the rainforest is being depleted without anyone replanting or figuring out a solution that both parties can agree too. The company is willing to help bring the tribe into learning new ways of replanting and working on a way to take of these people so they can build their factory in the area where these people live. So there is some level of concern on both parties to understand what is going on and how to handle the situation. To go with what is right for the environment the company should go ahead and do what they plan in their proposal to help the natives and that is to establish a program in order to take care of them and the land. Medical care, knowledge and training of planting and other sorts of aids will help the tribe be able to get through this and work alongside with one another.
The purpose of is for everyone to help one another and it is not as thought the pharmaceutical company is trying to take the land without asking. They are trying to work a way where everyone comes at ahead. The environment should not be forgotten as it plays a key role for the resources that both parties are interested in and should it be neglected then there will be nothing left for them to fight about. So this is an overall matter of actually working together and figuring out how to make both happy. Overall the company is out to do good and the tribe is there just to live their lives. The environment is important to both parties as one is there to make goods and services for mankind while the other is there as they have been there for a long time and it is an area they call home.
In this simulation it goes over the fact that the company is trying to do what is right and not take over with force but more of worrying about where the inhabitants are going to live and not destroy their way of life. The company shows its ethics and values by showing concern for the people and the environment as their plans are there to handle all of the scenarios that will come out of this situation. So in my opinion the ethics of both parties are of good nature and that there is no ill will towards the other. Should this happen in the near future hopefully the personnel that are involved will have the same ethics as those that are in this scenario and do what is best for the people and the environment at the same time.
