Every part of the world has its own culture. Culture includes the arts, traditions and customs of a country or region as well as the wisdom, values , lifestyle and trends of the people living there. In order to build a peaceful world, we need to acknowledge and respect each others culture. Culture shapes the way we see the world which in simple terms indicates that our culture values, which often include particular religious beliefs, shape our way of living in the world . It therefore has the capability to bring about the change of attitudes needed to ensure peace and sustainable development.

Traditional people or we can say our elderly generation have a broad knowledge of how to live sustainably and democratically . However, formal education systems have disrupted the practical everyday life aspects of indigenous knowledge and ways of learning , replacing them with abstract knowledge and academic ways of learning. Today, there is a grave risk that much of traditional wisdom is being lost and along with it, valuable knowledge about ways of living peacefully.

Principles and values encourage a spirit of harmony between people, their natural environment and their spiritual identities. Culture is seen as a system of social control where people shape their behaviour. The cultural values from the founding principles of ones life. They influence ones way of living and thus impact social life. The importance of culture in creating a brighter future lies in the fact that it is a link between people and their value system. The existing state of affairs can seem intractable . Forces can feel beyond your control or ability to influences in any way. Yet, that is exactly what leaders seek to do : change the future. And to do that, they invent it. We reinforce it with our expectations and behaviour.

Behaviour improvement is highly desirable in the interest of making the world a better place to live in ad securing better lives for human beings. Parents are highly obliged to encourage and motivate a childs improvement towards their behaviour and creating a secured future.

Furthermore, parents as well as teachers are responsible to educate a child on moral values education because when a person lives his or her life according to moral values, that are based on honesty, compassion, courage and forgiveness, then a person can form positive bonds with other people which will later lead in creating a democratic nation. It provides a structure for our life such as honesty makes us respectable in the society, compassion makes us sympathetic towards others and courage gives us the bravery to overcome challenges. These principles of cultural values allows a person to live a life in a way that can create a democratic, peaceful and harmonious atmosphere. Culture provides a person a set of behaviour when dealing with difficult situations.

Today, a global crisis faces humanity marked by increasing poverty in our asymmetrical world, environment degradation and short sightedress in policy making. Culture in the crucial key in solving this crisis and creating a better future. Culture is a bond that ties the people of a community together by respecting each others customs and traditions, the festivals they celebrate and most importantly the cultural values they adopt to bind them together.
